Low-latency FEC Design with Geometric Packet Arrival and Delayed Feedback

This Paper - Low-latency FEC Design with Geometric Packet Arrival and Delayed Feedback - by Qi Zhang and Xiaoli Xu appeared recently in IEEE communication letters. The Authors investigate the trade-off between the expected E2E latency and channel utilization for sending adaptively arriving packets over a lossy channel with feedback delay. They propose an RLNC coded Scheme which has higher channel utilization, but much better E2E Latency. Whereas ARQ performance "degrades drastically with the feedback delay".
